What is Children's Poetry?

Children's poetry is poetry written for, or appropriate for children. This may include folk poetry (for example,Mother Goose rhymes); poetry written intentionally for young people (e.g. Shel Silverstein); poetry written originally for adults, but appropriate for young people (Ogden Nash); and poems taken from prose works (Lewis Carroll,Rudyard Kipling).

Here's an example of poem :)

Caterpillar
~Christina Rossetti

Brown and furry
Caterpillar in a hurry,
Take your walk
To the shady leaf, or stalk,
Or what not,
Which may be the chosen spot.
No toad spy you,
Hovering bird of prey pass by you;
Spin and die,
To live again a butterfly.

What is Jazz Chant?

Jazz chant is a poem that use jazz rhythms to illustrate the natural stress and intonation patterns of conversational American English. Jazz Chants provide an innovative and exciting way to improve your speaking and listening comprehension skills while reinforcing the language structures of everyday situation.

Here's an example of jazz chant :D

This is mine! That's yours!
Don't touch mine! Get your own!

This is mine! That's yours!
This is mine! That's yours!
This is mine! That's yours!
That's yours! That's yours!

Hey, what are you doing?
What are you doing with that? That's mine!

Hey, what are you doing?
What are you doing with that? That's his!

Hey, what are you doing?
What are you doing with that? That's hers!

What's mine is mine.
What's yours is yours.
What's his is his.
What's hers is hers.
What's ours is ours.
What's theirs is theirs.

May us be blessed. Thank you for your sweet time. :)

What is Nursery Rhyme?

The term nursery rhyme is used for traditional poems and songs for young children in Britain and many other countries, but usage only dates from the late 18th/early 19th century and in North America the term "Mother Goose Rhymes", introduced in the mid-1700s, is still often used.

Here is an example of nursery rhyme :D

Baa Baa Black Sheep

Baa baa black sheep

Have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir,
Three bags full.
One for the master
One for the dame
And one for the little boy who lives down the lane.

Baa baa white sheep
Have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir
Three needles full.
One to mend a jumper
One to mend a frock
And one for the little girl with holes in her socks.

Baa baa grey sheep
Have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir
Three bags full.
One for the kitten
One for the cats
And one for the guinea pigs to knit some woolly hats

Now, let's sing together!

May us be blessed. Thank you for your sweet time. :)
